Soil Biology: Fungi Part VII - Who can use it?

Big Ag?

Like many other products, mycorrhizal fungi should be used by farmers of all types and all scales. For indoor/greenhouse use farmers, a little goes a long way to provide strength, rigidity, and yield. For outdoor farmers and big ag, fungi can help rebuild their soil and provide long-term protection for their crops in the future. If you’re outdoors or if you’re reusing your soil in an indoor/greenhouse scenario, eventually you won’t have to apply additional fungi. Over time, as the innate population that you are inoculating with will continue to grow and establish itself, less and fewer products will have to be applied. In outdoor no-till and raised bed scenarios, this network of fungi can stretch over the entire property, creating a veritable highway for information and nutrient allocation.Β
